The RC-540 rim by Araya, Japan. This is a great clincher alternative to the ever popular Araya 16B.
It has the low profile side wall like most well know Araya tubular rims, but this is a 700C clincher rim so it's perfect for daily street riding.
They are designed as 'training rims' for the Keirin School in Japan, to be used for road riding, and taking the bulk of the laps the Keirin guys put in over the years.
Araya Gold NJS rims are often kept for serious track training sessions, time trials, and of course, racing!
It has a soft brushed silver anodize finish, which is quite resilient, and has a classic look.
This comes standard as 36 hole, and 32 hole is also kept in small quantities, but may sometimes incur a short wait before shipping.
Although these are not NJS certified, a lot of our customers, who are building 'all-NJS' bikes, use these instead of 16B Gold rim, so they can use a clincher tire.
Sold as single rims, so if you would like a pair (front/rear) of rims, please purchase a quantity of 2.
We also offer a custom wheel building service, which can include building wheel sets using these Araya RC-540 rims.
